A Note from Your Deans

Dear graduates, families, and friends:

The accomplishments we are gathering here to celebrate are the culmination of years of extraordinary work – work that will shape the world around us and your own lives for decades to come. You are leaving an incredible mark on Washington University and the College of Arts & Sciences. The academic efforts in which you’ve engaged, your impact across our local and global communities, and the deep bonds you’ve forged here are testament to your character, your drive, and your deep commitment to learning. We are proud to welcome you into our family of alumni.

As we celebrate this milestone, our lives all look much different than when you first arrived on campus. You knew that getting a Washington University degree would be a challenge, but four years ago, who could have anticipated the amount of grit, tenacity, and grace it would take to reach this moment? Take a breath and recognize the immensity of what you have accomplished.

Please know that your friends, teachers, and community here in Arts & Sciences will remain your steadfast champions as you make your mark in the world. We can’t wait to see what you’ll do next.
